Opened in 1935 as an Art Deco building designed by Clarence Stein, the Wichita Art Museum was enlarged in 1963 and again in the 1970s. The original building was incorporated into later construction, making its original sculptural setting difficult to read today.
When the value of art goes unrecognized, it becomes rubble.
