A characteristic of Bertram Grosvenor Goodhue’s buildings was Lee Lawrie’s work beyond their exterior sculpture. At the National Academy of Sciences, his contribution extended to fireplace mantels, locksets, lamps, gates and engaged sculpture carved directly into the building.
